Minister’s grilling of disgraceful labour leader was spot on
Union boss Fred Hahn was called out as anti-Semitic last Tuesday by David Piccini, Ontario’s Labour Minister. It was the first time that Piccini had met with or spoken to Hahn since taking over the labour portfolio last September.
“My door will remain open to your members, but you have to stop hating Jews,” Piccini told Hahn.
Last Wednesday, Premier Doug Ford said he wanted to give Piccini a “shout out” for his comments about Hahn.
“This guy has been a bully for 20 years,” Ford said. “His bigoted comments, it’s unacceptable.”

August is here with our 104th edition of the MBE Business Magazine.
For the month of July in southern Ontario, we experienced either unbearably hot days or monsoon-like conditions, with rain levels equivalent to an entire month’s worth falling in just one day. How much rain did we get? Well, basements were flooded, roadways were undriveable, and cars were stranded with water levels rising almost as high as the car windows while drivers were rescued by emergency personnel. When it wasn’t raining, the heat was stifling, almost like walking into a sauna. If your car sat outside in the hot sun all day, you were greeted with interior temperatures well above 40 degrees Celsius by the end of your workday. Quite a contrast from one extreme to the other. Let’s see what August has in store weather-wise!
