After more than eight months of hate filled protests on our streets aimed at Jews, Toronto Police were quick to act last Wednesday.
They announced they’re looking into a truck carrying a message about Muslims praying in public spaces in Canada.
Forget all the cries of “from the river to the sea” or “only one solution, intefadeh revolution,” the real hate is someone pointing out that taking over streets and public squares for prayer isn’t normal in Canada.

June is here with our 102nd edition of the MBE Business Magazine.
As we usher in the month of June, we say goodbye to the month of May. Temperatures throughout May fluctuated from bad to good. The bad days were usually met with below normal temperatures accompanied by rain while the good days were full of bright sunshine and seasonal temperatures along with the occasional day of scorching heat. Now that June is here, we can only hope the next three months bring above average temperatures with lots of sunshine because before you know it, fall will be here.
Some important days for the month of June are as follows:
Thursday June 6, signifies the anniversary of D Day. It was in 1944, at the height of World War II, the Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy to fight the German troops in what became known as D-Day. Operation Neptune, as it was formally designated at the time, started the effort to liberate France from German occupation. It was the largest invasion by sea in history.
Shavuot begins at sunset on June 11, and ends at nightfall on June 13. Shavuot, also known as the Feast of Weeks, is a major Jewish holiday observed every year fifty days after the Passover Seder. It encompasses two celebrations, the wheat harvest in Israel and God’s giving of the Torah to the people of Israel on Mount Sinai.
Personally and selfishly, my favourite day of the month is Father’s Day. It will be celebrated on June 16. Every year on the third Sunday of June, Father’s Day is celebrated across the country. It is a day to celebrate fathers and the crucial role they play in people’s lives, from childhood through to adulthood.
Eid al-Adha would begin on June 16th and last until June 20th. Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of the two holiest Islamic celebrations, observed by Muslims around the world. Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah which is the last month of Islamic lunar Calendar. It is a four-day festival which Muslims around the world observe.
Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere will occur on Thursday, June 20 around 4:50 P.M. EDT. It is the longest day of the year that marks the arrival of the summer season. Summer Solstice generally occurs between June 20 and June 22. The solstice happens when the Earth arrives at the point where the North Pole is at its maximum tilt in relation to the sun. This is why days are longer during the Summer Solstice.
