Two thousand dollars. That’s how much the typical two car Ontario family spends on gas taxes every year.
Big numbers can sometimes be hard to process. But the feeling of dread Ontarians get as the gas meter ticks up sure isn’t.

August is here with our 104th edition of the MBE Business Magazine.
For the month of July in southern Ontario, we experienced either unbearably hot days or monsoon-like conditions, with rain levels equivalent to an entire month’s worth falling in just one day. How much rain did we get? Well, basements were flooded, roadways were undriveable, and cars were stranded with water levels rising almost as high as the car windows while drivers were rescued by emergency personnel. When it wasn’t raining, the heat was stifling, almost like walking into a sauna. If your car sat outside in the hot sun all day, you were greeted with interior temperatures well above 40 degrees Celsius by the end of your workday. Quite a contrast from one extreme to the other. Let’s see what August has in store weather-wise!
